Once again I have found another awesome song through Birago Jones‘ Podcast (Syndicated Beats); The Longest Road by Morgan Page (the Deadmau5 Remix is my favourite). Finding this has once again reinforced my feeling of how intertwined this genre of music is, because I recently became aware of (and a fan of) Deadmau5 (MySpace) through other means.

I think that even though this is only the second song that I have posted about so far, that there is a bit of a trend for electronic music with an deep beat, cool tune, beautiful female voice with awesome lyrics. I wonder if the next song that I’m infatuated enough about to post on my blog about will conform.

I downloaded a DJ set from The Mixing Bowl by Satoshi Tomiie for SAW Radio a few weeks ago, and pretty much fell in love with the song at the end of the set, and had been listening to it every night quite loudly for the past few nights. I don’t know why it took me so long, but yesterday, I tried to find out who it was by, but couldn’t find a track-listing for the DJ set anywhere, even when going to the host’s site, Birago Jones, that was mentioned at the end of the set. I tried googling the lyrics (“Sun in my eyes, the world at my feet, love’s in the music, the music’s in me…”) but all i found was the quote in someone’s sig in a Prince forum…

I turned to my brother for answers, who had heard it before and was able to identify it as “Myomi – Sun in My Eyes (Paul Woolford Remix)”. Hearing samples of the original and other versions of the song, I wasn’t very impressed, I should have just stuck to the version in the DJ set. I was interested to see if there was anything else by Myomi, but couldn’t find anything, there isn’t even an entry for them on Discogs.com. I do highly recommend the SAW Recordings Radio Podcast if you like this type of music, the majority of the entries are by Satoshi Tomiie, who is one of my favourite DJs. There unfortunately hasn’t been an update since the 2nd of July, but I’m hoping there will be soon.
